1938 Chrysler, Nice car; It had a strait six engine and lots of room on the interior. It had a good ride and ample power.

We planned a trip to Victor Montana to visit grandmother and after that to Olympia, Seattle and Tacoma Washington. We were entering Victor when the engine compartment burst into flames; I stopped the car opened the hood and began throwing dirt and gravel along side of the road trying to put the fire out. Fortunately there was a man across the street who was watering his lawn, he filled a watering can with water and run over and helped me put the fire out. The problem was that the fuel pump was was leaking gasoline into the oil and then was forced oil and gas out onto the engine, a spark from a faulty spark plug wire ignited the gas and oil causing the fire.

We repaired the fuel pump with the help of Ginny's grandfather. After the visit we headed to Washington. Our objective was to find Ginny's father who she had not seen since her mother and father had divorced about ten years before; The trip was in vain so we headed to California. On the way the chrysler developed a blown head gasket but we just kept driving it. We made it to San Jose Ca. and lived there for about six mos. and then moved to Barstow Ca where the chryslers life ended. We sold it to a wrecking yard for a pretty good price because it had an overdrive unit that he needed.
