I bought this Car in 1958 It was what they called a hard top, notice that there is no bars between the front seat and the rear. It gave an open free feeling.
Some of the things happening in this year was Sunset Strip was on TV, Elvis, The adventures of Rin Tin Tin. Homes were $8,450 00, average income was $4500.00, a Cadillac Convertible was $5000.00, the cold war was a grim reality and our son Chris was climbing onto the front bumper of this car slipped off and broke his arm. This was about the time that we went together with Ginny's sister and brother in-law bought a boat and did a lot of water skiing.
This was the year that we took a journey in our new to us pontiac from SLC Ut. to Seattle WA to try and find Ginny father whom she had not seen for 10 years. Her mother had kept her and her sister separated from him all this time. We did not find her father up there but from some tips we found her aunts uncles and grandmother. What a happy happy reunion. Her father lived in sunnyvale Ca. she called and had a great phone reunion and decided that when we returned home that we with her sister and husband would meet him in Winnemucca NV. About a week later we met with him, had a wonderful 2 day visit with him. We would visit him in sunnyvale CA many times after that.
This car is rated number 2 of all the cars I owned. I loved that car.
